The Good Housekeeping Institute Beauty, Health and Sustainability Lab constantly tests beauty products, including sunscreens. "These ingredients sit on top of the skin and block UV radiation." "Mineral sunscreen uses physical blockers like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide," explains Chris Tomassian, M.D., a Los Angeles-based board-certified dermatologist and founder of The Dermatology Collective. There are two types of sunscreens: mineral and chemical. ![]() Side note- I always double cleanse/oil cleanse with jojoba oil and make sure to really massage around my nose or other trouble zones for blemishes to make sure I’m getting all my sunscreen off at the end of the day, otherwise I do find that some of these options will build up in my pores with daily use/reapplication.No matter the weather, the season or the length of time you'll be outside, wearing sunscreen is an absolute must (yes, even when it's cloudy!).
